"Sea Dreams" marks my fourth and final submission for Interactive Fiction Writing Month 2009. It also marks my first incomplete submission; consider this a prologue to a larger, more complex game that I hope to finish within the next few weeks. We shall see. Week four required us to implement a new verb essential for the completion of the story. Mine is 'smoke [something]' and though somewhat drab and uninspiring, it's crucial for spurring the story forward. Week four also encouraged us to find beta-testers for our creation. Thanks to Fjörd Folio and Vivienne Dunstan who worked their way through this first iteration. "Sea Dreams" comes with a built-in help and hint menu, and there's a walkthrough in case all else fails. I've also included the source text, which consists of two files: mhilborn_4_source.txt mhilborn_4_source_menu.txt The first is the I7 source code. The second is the "Modified Help Menu" extension included by the source code. Should you wish to compile the code, you will need to have I7 install the extension source code. Consult your documentation for instructions. Other extensions in the code are not included, but can be found on the I7 web site: http://www.inform-fiction.com/ Please send your feedback to mhilborn@biggles2k.com and thanks for playing. Enjoy!
